Aluminium Formwork Adoption Accelerates Across Southeast Asia

The adoption of aluminium formwork systems is accelerating across Southeast Asia, with contractors in Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines increasingly switching from conventional timber and steel-frame shuttering to aluminium panel systems for residential construction projects.

Industry analysts attribute the trend to several factors: the rising cost of timber, an acute shortage of skilled formwork carpenters, and government pressure on contractors to accelerate housing delivery timelines in rapidly growing urban centres.

TECON, one of China’s leading aluminium formwork manufacturers, has reported a 35% year-on-year increase in export volume to Southeast Asia, with Vietnam representing the single largest growth market.
